Management

Adjuvantix has a management team with many decades of experience in the development of vaccines and adjuvant systems.

Professor Andrew Heath, PhD - Chief Scientific Officer:

Andrew is a Professor in Department of Infection and Immunity and the founding director of Adjuvantix. Having received his PhD from the University of Sheffield in 1985 he held positions at St George's Hospital Medical School, Middlesex Hospital and then Paravax Inc and DNAX Inc in California before returning to Sheffield in 1994. Much of his University based research is involved with the rational design of immunological adjuvants and he has a number of publications relating to the use of cytokines as adjuvants in protein and DNA vaccines.

Paul Jenkins, PhD - Chief Executive Officer:

Paul has been involved with vaccine and delivery system commercialisation for over 20 years and has negotiated a number of deals for vaccine technologies.  Originally trained as Ph.D. immunologist, Paul also has an executive MBA from London Business School. He has held senior management positions with Phoqus Pharmaceuticals, West Pharmaceuticals and Proteus Ltd.

Peter Grant, PhD - Acting Chairman:

Peter is a founder and Board Director of Biofusion plc where he is the Operations Director. He gained a PhD in Biochemistry from Cardiff University and went on to hold positions with Genzyme, Celltech, Enzymatix and Celsis (co-founder) over the last 25yrs.

Philip Bedford, PhD - Non - Executive Director

A tumour biologist by training, Philip has more than 22 years experience in the pharmaceutical industry. At GlaxoWellcome (now GSK) he undertook several senior clinical development and project management roles and until 1997, he was Senior Vice President of Clinical Operations and Regulatory Affairs at Acambis (now Sanofi Pasteur).
